Big Bass Splash

Big Bass Splash is one of those games I loaded up expecting five minutes and ended up playing on the train home twice. The core loop is simple: you cast, you wait, you reel in, and each catch feels weighty because of how the line tension is animated. It's a very tactile little game.

Controls are entirely one-handed, which I appreciated. A tap starts the cast, a swipe adjusts direction, and the reeling is a gentle hold-and-release rhythm. Nothing here demands quick reflexes, so it works just as well when you're half awake as when you're focused.

What kept me coming back was the pace. The lake gradually opens up, new spots appear, and the presentation stays cheerful without being loud. It's not a deep strategy game, but it isn't trying to be — it's comfort food, and it does that job well.
